2019 Legislative Session

In 2019 in our first legislative session, we brought our APIA stories and experiences to the table. This led to huge voting rights victories: Same-Day Voter Registration and restored voting rights for the formerly incarcerated.

We also passed bills that required earned paid sick leave for companies with more than 50 employees.

Bills Passed in 2019:

✓ AB345—Allows for Online, Same Day Voter Registration, and Improved Voting Accommodations

✓ AB431—Restores felons' right to vote upon completing their sentence

✓ SB312—Requires earned paid sick leave
